Faith...

Few weeks ago, I woke up to the sound of the word "Luke 7" from the sleep. Its like someone waking me up  calling out Luke 7:7. Me waiting for every little chance to update the blog :-) was over-thrilled that GOD is sending me messages.

Luke 7
New International Version (NIV)

The Faith of the Centurion
7 When Jesus had finished saying all this to the people who were listening, he entered Capernaum. 2 There a centurion’s servant, whom his master valued highly, was sick and about to die. 3 The centurion heard of Jesus and sent some elders of the Jews to him, asking him to come and heal his servant. 4 When they came to Jesus, they pleaded earnestly with him, “This man deserves to have you do this, 5 because he loves our nation and has built our synagogue.” 6 So Jesus went with them.
He was not far from the house when the centurion sent friends to say to him: “Lord, don’t trouble yourself, for I do not deserve to have you come under my roof. 7 That is why I did not even consider myself worthy to come to you. But say the word, and my servant will be healed.
NOT once, but many a times I have thought of this. Am I worthy to serve the holy of the holiest. Mighty BIG GOD maker of heaven and earth?
When I go to heaven, if there is a meeting with Jesus in an auditorium and if our deeds are the tickets. I would be in the least, last back row of the sanctuary... Hardly getting a glance of Christ.  I would be the one with row so closer to the wall. Knees down. Eagerly would be watching the podium for the Mightiest of the mightiest, lover of my soul, my savior to show up.
He would come up and would glance all of us. EYE to EYE and would acknowledge us. He would even call everyone of us by our name. I am sure of that. Very definite about that. And that confidence is re-emphasized thru this passage in Luke.

Luke the physician by profession would have been floored by Jesus's healing miracles. Luke chapter explain physical healing in that aspect for the only reason that Luke with all the acquired medical knowledge cannot comprehend the Jesus's method and nature of healing.

Remember Jesus is in human form and has the limitations of a human being. However, because he lead such a sinless and god fearing life, he had such great relationship with GOD Almighty, he had such great authority over everything on the earth. And he gave the authority to his disciples during his ministry that they performed similar miracles after his resurrection.
Luke 7 chapter - Emphasis the GOD's LOVE.
Christ's Compassion & HOPE .  - He is busy with his ministry. Yet he is not too busy to heal  the Centurion's servant. He keeps up the hope of the centurion by heeding to the request and walking towards his home.
Christ's recognitiom of LOVE - He readily accepts the humility shown by centurion and his attitude towards his servants. He recognizes it.
Christ's acknowledgement of FAITH - Christ acknowledges centurion's faith and he gives him as a witness to the crowd and fulfill his request.

Luke 7:9-10
When Jesus heard this, he was amazed. Turning to the crowd that was following him, he said, “I tell you, I haven’t seen faith like this in all Israel!” 10 And when the officer’s friends returned to his house, they found the slave completely healed.

Jesus is the SAME today.

Let us put Centurion kind of faith on Jesus and see Miracles unfold in our life!

All praise to GOD! Immaneul!

Rejoicing His Love - Di's Testimony

When I started this blog, I was so filled with God’s holy presence that I was excited and updating this blog like crazy. Then... I slipped into something in between, into an Oblivion, into a world of nothingness(is that a word?)

During that time, I was aimlessly browsing thru emails, Facebook, Online news papers and doing things. So restless. No focus. Morbid and annoyed.

Even then, like a full moon in the desert, I felt Christ glowing bright and shiny watching over me. That IS it! One more time I started to swing, giving myself a big push. I decided to stay steady. Prayed/Praying for the blog about it for more readers and contributors.

Within a week or two, I was thrilled when my dear Friend Jennifer wrote a post on "Fear". My Joy knew no bounds, when my sweet sister in Christ Yamini, sent me the list of God Fearing Man’s blessing carefully compiled by Aunty(her Mom).
My day is not complete, if I don’t talk about his Marvelous deeds to at least one person it could be a non – believer; a colleague; a believer in train; to my young child or to my god given sister Yamini.  Just as the Psalmist exclaim in Psalm 71:7-8 - How wonderful is to enlist the splendor of his mighty acts!!!

I am no Preacher, no Evangelist nor a Priest nor a Minister. I am just a mere human being, a simpleton saved by his Grace, stunned by his Mercy and rejoicing his Love!

Thanks for allowing me to share my Joy with you. All Praise to GOD!

Anger - Yamini's Account

Luke 15:25-31
25 “Meanwhile, the older son was in the field. When he came near the house, he heard music and dancing. 26 So he called one of the servants and asked him what was going on. 27 ‘Your brother has come,’ he replied, ‘and your father has killed the fattened calf because he has him back safe and sound.’
28 “The older brother became angry and refused to go in. So his father went out and pleaded with him. 29 But he answered his father, ‘Look! All these years I’ve been slaving for you and never disobeyed your orders. Yet you never gave me even a young goat so I could celebrate with my friends. 30 But when this son of yours who has squandered your property with prostitutes comes home, you kill the fattened calf for him!’
31 “‘My son,’ the father said, ‘you are always with me, and everything I have is yours.

The older son was as lost as the younger son though he was in the Father’s presence because he was angry. When there is anger there is no room for celebration, no room for rejoicing. His anger also prevented him to enter the Father’s house. We have all been invited for the marriage supper of the Lamb. Let not our anger prevent us from entering our Father’s house and celebrate.

ALL sin leads to death (Rom 6:23) including anger. There is no big or small sin in the sight of our holy God. When we are angry we give the devil an opportunity (Eph 4:27).

Basically he is using us instead of God using us. When we are angry we grieve the Holy Spirit (Eph 4:30). We may think that we are grieving the person whom we are angry with, but it is actually the Holy Spirit who is grieved. The root cause of most anger is unforgiveness (Eph 4:31,32).

When we harbor unforgiveness, God cannot bless us. Sometimes we think we have the right to be angry like Jonah (Jonah 4:9). But we don’t. When we are angry we become a stumbling block for God’s righteousness to be accomplished (James 1:19-20).

Anger will be detrimental to our physical and spiritual health. Let us repent of our anger issues and ask God to fill us with Calvary’s love. Love covers a multitude of sins.

Eph 4:26, 27 “In your anger do not sin”: Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry, and do not give the devil a foothold.

Eph 4:30-32 And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.  Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice.  Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.

Jonah 4:9 But God said to Jonah, “Do you have a right to be angry about the vine?” “I do,” he said. “I am angry enough to die.”

James 1:19, 20 My dear brothers, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, for man’s anger does not bring about the righteous life that God desires.

Fear

FEAR.. Our mind gets crowded with Fear. Fear of uncertainity, Fear that something would happen, Fear that we would lose something, Fear that what we are expecting would not happen.. All kinds of fears.. If we analyze this closely, it is always related to something in future. Even though we might be the Lord's servant but still we(I) fall into this trap. This is clearly the devil's weapon to get into our mind. Here are all the verses against fear.. I am going to make it a motto to practice it for myself and if any of you would be encouraged by them please do so.

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:6-7) -

What a wonderful promise.. We have all the tools, we just need to use them....

“I sought the LORD, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears” (Psalm 34:4).

“So we say with confidence, ‘The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?’” (Hebrews 13:6).

Even though I talk about other fears, remember to always only fear that we are walking in the Lord's words

“Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. Do not be wise in your own eyes; FEAR THE LORD and shun evil. This will bring health to your body and nourishment to your bones” (Proverbs 3:5-8).

May you all be strengthened by our Lord Jesus Christ.
